Post purchase surveys are automated questionnaires that either pop up after your customer completes their transaction or is sent to the customer via email once they make a purchase. This is an example of first party data, or information that you get directly from the customer. This is invaluable for understanding the customer’s experience with your brand, how they found the experience on your website, how they heard about your company and more.

By asking pointed questions about areas of potential improvement for your site, you can have information about your website and brand experience that is exactly on the pulse of what your customers want. For example, if one of your questions asks the customer to rate their checkout experience, and the ratings are consistently low, you can tweak things to eliminate points of friction.
